Angels Game in Cowboy Hats

Kelly found out that one of the Angel game giveaways was going to be an Angel's Cowboy hat.  Once he found that out, we got tickets and went.  The kids loved the hats.  We were even part of a Guinness book of world records event that night of largest group of people wearing cowboy hats at one time.  My parents went with us and we just had a really good time.  Can't beat a good Angel's game!

Kindergarten Graduate

This is Kora and her Kindergarten Teacher, Mrs. Towne on Graduation Day, May 30th.  Kora loved her teacher and did really well throughout Kindergarten.

The kids did a little 3 song presentation in their classroom and then their teacher handed out diplomas and awards to all of the students.  This year has flown by.  We're so proud of our Kora Kora!  On to First grade!

Family Day at Lake Arrowhead

This year we decided to take a family day on a Saturday and drive up to Lake Arrowhead. Kelly looked up restaurants online and found a waffle house.  They have amazing waffles.  We had breakfast there but they even had savory waffles which we'll have to try sometime.  After breakfast, the kids enjoyed watching the ducks, boats launching and people fishing in the lake. One thing I loved about Lake Arrowhead was that they had a little park as well as a few rides for the kids to ride.  We didn't do that, but it was nice to know if we ever go again.

There were lots of shops and we spent time doing a little window shopping.  We even stopped in a candy store and got the kids some candy sticks, which they are showing us in this picture.

After shopping we decided to do a little bowling at a place up there.  It was empty at the time we went, which it is always nice to have the place to ourselves.  Also, not only did they have the bumpers but they also had a metal rack that you put your ball on to help it roll down the lane at a good speed.  The kids loved it.  Mylie's picture was hard to take because every time she rolled the ball she would start jumping up and down in excitement.  We had so much fun that we'll definitely have to go up again.

Hunter Baseball 2012

This year Hunter was on Farm.  It is one level higher than T-Ball.  This means that kids actually pitch instead of coaches pitching to the kids or hitting off of the T.  Although, if the boys pitch 4 balls then the coach gets to pitch the remaining strikes.  This replaces walks.  There are no walks allowed at this level.

There are 3 other boys from our ward that were in this league and one of the fathers decided to coach and draft all of the boys onto the same team.  The team did really well and ended up getting 2nd place out of I think 8 teams.  It was fun being on the same team as other boys in the ward.  Hunter's team was the Blue Jays.

Hunter got to pitch this year and loved it.  Hunter has always loved baseball and this year has really increased that love.  He watches the Angel games with his Dad on television and even sat and watched an entire game all by himself while Kelly was at work.  Hunter has always loved playing baseball in the front with Kelly, but now, it's all he wants to do.  The moment Kelly walks through the door he asks to play baseball.  Hunter recently told me that after his mission he wants to play College Baseball and then wants to try to play in the Majors.  I told him it will take lots of practicing and listening to coaches and Dad.  Who knows, maybe you'll see Hunter Kerr on a pro jersey someday?
